A Study on Factors Affecting Intention to Participate in Voluntary Activities for Later Life of the Baby boomers

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the factors affecting intention to participate involuntary activities during later life of the baby boomers. Proportional quota sampling methodwas used to recruit respondents based on the population of 15 area of South Korea. The ratioof age and sex was applied for sampling, too. The effects of socio-demographic factors, resourcesfactors, factors of continuous experiences were examined by logistic regression. The result showedthe influence of these every factors. They have the intention to participate in voluntary activitiesfor later life, as they are female, the higher household income, the lower satisfaction level ofsubjective economy, they participate in the preparation programs for later life, the shorter leisuretime, and they have the volunteer experiences. Based on these results, this study could suggestthe next research about the characteristics of female baby boomers and also the study about therelation of voluntary activities and using leisure time of baby boomers. It is necessary to utilizethe integrated preparation program for later life, and enlarge the chances of voluntary activitiesfor baby boomers who are interested in the altruism.
